Programs

C.H.O.I.R. Stars provides teens and young adults with hematology, oncology, immunology, or rheumatology disorders, along with their siblings, a selection programs that will enrich their experiences of the arts. Our weekend workshop style camp rotates between five different areas of study: art, dance, music, theatre, and writing. Our campers are able to take classes according to what they are interested in throughout the session. A camper at C.H.O.I.R. Stars is able to discover the various ways that they can express themselves through the arts.

Since our programs are offered in the heart of major metropolitan areas, we have access to the robust arts communities. We will be holding workshops, family outings, and in-hospital instrument donations and sessions throughout the country to accommodate our C.H.O.I.R. Stars community. It is our mission to provide arts programs to as many individuals as possible, and we realize that traveling isn’t always easy with a chronic health condition. An activity might be seeing some classical or contemporary art in a museum or gallery. We could go to a dance performance, see a show at one of the many theatres and performing arts centers, or listen to a jazz band. The purpose of these activities are to bring to life the art experience beyond the classroom.
